First Whitney Bank & Trust Offers 5.25% Introductory Rate for Camblin Hills Buyers

Special financing opportunity available for qualifying purchases of homes, condos, and lots in the Camblin Hills Development.

For those considering making a move to Camblin Hills, a new financing opportunity from First Whitney Bank & Trust is giving potential buyers another reason to take a closer look.

First Whitney Bank & Trust is offering a 5.25%* introductory interest rate for the first 62 months on qualifying mortgage loans for homes, condos, and lots purchased in the Camblin Hills Development in Atlantic.

The special financing opportunity adds another option for buyers at a time when there are a variety of ways to make Camblin Hills home.

Currently, the development includes 17 homes available for purchase, 14 condos in progress, and 26 residential lots available for future construction. Additional homes are under construction, and buyers who get involved early may still have opportunities to make selections and choose finishes. Residential lots are currently priced from $69,000 to $79,000, with buyers welcome to bring their own builder.

The financing opportunity is part of First Whitney Bank & Trust’s continued investment in the Atlantic community and its support of Vision Atlantic’s efforts to expand local housing opportunities.

“First Whitney Bank & Trust has been part of the Atlantic community for generations, and we believe strongly in investing in opportunities that help our community grow. Camblin Hills represents a significant investment in Atlantic’s future, and we wanted to find a meaningful way to support that effort while also making homeownership more attainable for individuals and families who see themselves building a future here,” said Paul Gude, President of First Whitney Bank & Trust. “By offering this special financing opportunity, we hope to remove one more barrier for those considering a home, condo, or lot at Camblin Hills and help create some additional momentum for the development. Strong communities need quality housing options, and we’re proud to partner with Vision Atlantic on an initiative that will have an impact well beyond the development itself. When Atlantic grows, our businesses, schools and entire community benefit,.”

Vision Atlantic President, Nick Hunt, said the partnership is another example of local organizations coming together to support Atlantic’s continued growth.

“This opportunity from First Whitney Bank & Trust is exactly the kind of partnership that helps take a community development project like Camblin Hills to the next level,” Hunt expressed. “We’ve made a significant investment in creating new housing opportunities in Atlantic, and this gives potential homeowners another meaningful reason to take a closer look at what’s available. More importantly, it shows what can happen when local organizations work together toward the same goal. We are incredibly grateful to First Whitney for continuing to invest in Vision Atlantic, in Camblin Hills and ultimately in the future of our community.”

First Interstate Bank Donates to Vision Atlantic

The Atlantic, Iowa, branch of First Interstate Bank has recently made a donation of $2,500 in support of Vision Atlantic’s transformative community development project, which includes a new housing development, child development center, and YMCA expansion.

“At First Interstate, we live and work in the same communities as our clients,” shared Community Bank Manager, Scott Thraen. “When Vision Atlantic brought this project forward, we didn’t need a complicated reason to say yes. Investing in childcare is investing in the future of this community, plain and simple.”

Vision Atlantic, through extensive research and surveying of the community and surrounding region, identified three areas that will help increase Atlantic’s population: expanded childcare, quality housing and quality of life amenities. Infrastructure for the 142 mixed unit Camblin Hills housing development and 300 capacity child development center is almost complete, with construction of 48 homes currently underway. Construction of the child development center and YMCA expansion is slated to begin in 2026.

Vision Atlantic has a fundraising goal of $39 million, which will be used to construct the YMCA expansion and child development center as well as support Vision Atlantic housing initatives. To date, they have raised $36.5 million of that goal, thanks to an $8.6 million lead grant from the Charles E. Lakin Foundation and significant support from local donors. In addition to their grant support, the Lakin Foundation has created a separate investment fund of $23 million that will be used to construct homes in the Camblin Hills housing development. The capital will be used as a line of credit, and as the dollars are paid back, the Foundation will donate up to 5% of the interest paid back to Vision Atlantic, who will use those dollars to operate the child development center.

Vision Atlantic’s Project Committee is actively working to secure the remaining $2.5 million needed to meet their fundraising goal.
